Lions in action.

Was out one morning going to an area I knew I had a good chance of seeing lions with cubs. A pride called the Moporotha pride which has eight cubs at the moment.
In the late morning we picked them up on the move and looking hungry.
This female lion caught this impala in mid-air.

Hippopotamus

Hippos will very often "yawn" when you sit and watch them. This is always a great way to get a good shot, but it works even better when you get a hippo that throws it's head around.
The name of the game in most cases is sitting and waiting and seeing how fast your reactions really are. Try looking for the bull of the pod identified by a larger head then all the others. He is normally the first to show off his huge weapons.

Legadima

Our star and mother to be. Legadima is a leopard that is well know in Mombo and has the heart of many a guest that has seen her. She has raised two cubs so far in her life (Maru and Pula) and we are expecting her to have a new litter in mid Sep 09. Look forward to blogging it.

Leopards hate Baboons

This small leopard (Pula) was trying to get out of a tree before the baboons saw her. She made it out the tree with out breaking the silence around her and into the thickets below.
